This is another excellent collection of tunes from a remarkable artist. Soren Bebe’s playing is deceptively laid-back whilst incorporating complex improvisation on the melody. His music sounds, simultaneously, fresh and new but at the same time, intangibly, familiar. I admire his self release policy that clearly brings with it the artistic freedom to play his music in the way he wants to. I trust that nobody will talk him into playing in a large group context (not withstanding that he may have musical ideas that require a larger band in the future); the beauty of his playing is perfectly displayed in the trio context.

I received my copy upon my return from holiday, truly a pleasure deferred! It is quite simply sublime. So much so, I fell asleep to it! I’ve then heard it several times since when I’ve been more awake and it compliments the other albums really well. Other reviewers have commented in a similar vein that there is a complexity to the rhythms and yet they are simply laid down. Simplicity is not always easy to accomplish, but Søren does this really well making for lyrical listening that one can come back to time and again. And to think my introduction started with a free cd, there’s a message of how to get your music out there.
