Dear friend!
Thanks again for being here.

Today I wanted to tell you a bit more about the music on the new album.
It’s called Gratitude – and yes, it’s about saying thank you.
First and foremost, to you – for listening and making the music part of your life.

But it’s also gratitude for simply being able to do what I love most: making music full-time.
Whether I’m writing a new piece, playing a concert, or just practicing scales on the piano, there’s nothing I’d rather be doing.
I’ve dreamt of this since I was 10 years old.

It’s also a thank-you to the many musical masters I stand on the shoulders of.
When I fall in love with music, I go all in – I’ll listen to the same tracks or albums for weeks, even months.
Some songs I return to over and over.

One of these songs is Abbey Lincoln’s ‘Throw It Away ‘– track 8 on the album – which you’ll also find in an extra ‘alternate version’ on the Deluxe CD (track 16).
I discovered the song through guitarist John Scofield (another huge hero of mine), who recorded it on ‘A Moment’s Peace’ – a long-time favorite album of mine.
Here’s an excerpt of our version:
