Journalist and jazz critic Dick Hovenga’s amazing review of our trio album “Home” was originally published online at the music blog Written in Music (4,5 of 5 stars)
This week it also showed up in the print version of Dutch jazz magazine Jazzism
Today I received a scan of the review as well as an english translation from a fan in Belgium.
Thank you a million!!
Here’s the translated review:
“With his fifth album Home pianist Soren Bebe let us hear how curious it is that his trio doesn’t perform on all the great jazzstages of the world The trio has allready a great reputation but strange enough isn’t he signed yet to a major jazzlabel. Let’s hope this is gonna change with this new album. Home is one of the most beautifull jazzalbums you gonna hear this year. Bebe’s subtle piano play contains so much emotion and suppleness that you get speechless. With the album opener The Path To Somewhere you are immediately sold. His play is refined, emotional and subtle, like a warm blanket that descends over you. Contrabassist Kasper Tagel and drummer Anders Mogensen are the perfect companions. All eleven compositions are world-class and the play of the trio throughout the album is breathtakingly beautiful. Home is a jazz album that can be bought without thinking by anyone who loves jazz and piano trio.”
